Domestic cats instinctively regulate their macronutrient intake - their balance of carbohydrate, fat and protein consumption. In fact, their macronutrient intake is almost the same as that of mice and birds, their natural prey, researchers at the Waltham Centre for Pet Nutrition wrote in the journal Journal of Experimental Biology.
