In 'True Grit', Matt Damon plays LaBoeuf, a Texas Ranger who joins young Mattie Ross (Hailee Steinfeld) and U.S. Marshal Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges) on their mission to hunt down Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin), the man who killed Mattie's father. LaBoeuf is there for other reasons, though, having already been hot on the trail of the elusive Chaney after he murdered a Texas Senator. Acknowledging their mutual goal, the three then set out to capture Chaney together.
Moviefone sat down with Damon to chat a bit about his role in the film. In the video after the jump, we talk about everything from what the best part about being in a Western is to whether the actor wants to direct someday. Not to leave anything out, and considering the time of year it is, we also asked Damon -- who has three daughters with wife Luciana Bozán and is the adoptive father of a fourth from her previous marriage -- what his children are obsessed with this holiday season (fans of 'The Hunger Games,' listen up!).
Watch the video now, and catch 'True Grit' in theaters beginning today, Dec. 22. Continue Reading
