After long resisting the idea of releasing the Harry Potter series in e-book form, Rowling has finally caved and will be digitally releasing all seven novels in October when the site opens to the public. In addition, the e-books will be fully illustrated and interactive to the point where "You visit Diagon Alley, get sorted into a house, cast spells and mix potions to help your house compete for the House Cup," said Rowling. And as if that weren't enough, the Pottermore website itself will serve as a place for fans of the novels and films to discuss, relive and discover new developments in the stories that Rowling has been keeping secret all these years.
