It's too bad that the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' franchise is the closest thing we've got to a comedy about the life of a buccaneer, because as cool as they are, pirates have always seemed to get off pretty easy when it comes to being at the butt end of jokes. So leave it to the guys behind 'Wallace and Gromit' and 'Chicken Run' to fix that once and for all.
'The Pirates! Band of Misfits' is about a pirate captain named Pirate Captain who, with the help of his ragtag crew of swabs, tries to beat his swashbuckling rivals for the title of Pirate of the Year. Given its awful title and the fact that we've heard absolutely nothing about this movie before today, we weren't expecting much of anything from the debut trailer, but after just watching it for the third time and laughing way more than we were expecting to, we are totally on-board. Gotta love that claymation, too.
